Tell us a bit about yourself?
I am the Technical Manager here at Storyhouse, and have been here since before the building opened back in May 2017. I enjoy cycling and running and have 2 dogs and a cat at home. I enjoy walking and wild camping as well as riding and taking apart motorbikes!
What does your role at Storyhouse entail?
At Storyhouse I oversee the Technical and Facilities departments. This means looking after the technical requirements of all the performances and events across Storyhouse, GPOAT and MLF, as well as looking after the infrastructure of the building including the taps, toilets, radiators, air conditioning and doors!
I have the pleasure of working with the Technical team and the Production team to bring the Storyhouse Original productions to life. I look at design concepts and ideas of the creative team and together with the teams work out how to make these a reality!
What is your favourite thing about working at Storyhouse?
I love the variety of work that we do at Storyhouse. From receiving touring productions and working out how to fit them in our theatre through to producing our own work, staging one-nighters of comedians, dance and music through to putting on drive-in cinemas and outdoor theatres. Every week is different.
What is your favourite show that you’ve worked on?
The show I enjoyed working on the most was our production of Little Shop of Horrors back in June 2019. I loved the music and the live band and the challenges of fitting the production onto our Thrust stage!
