Relaxed Screening: Inside Out

11am, Saturday 29th April
Storyhouse

At 11am, Saturday 29th April, Storyhouse is holding a special free screening to help us test our cinema, as we invite you to watch a screening of Disney Pixar’s Inside Out.

The purpose of this event is to learn how we at Storyhouse can best support and welcome families and individuals with additional needs, including and especially autism or anyone on the autistic sensory spectrum. Event stewards will be on hand to ensure that you and your family will be comfortable and have a warm first impression.

Arts and craft activities will be outside of the cinema in the library space, along with a chill out-area.

Tickets are free, and are primarily intended for Cheshire Autism, The National Autistic Society and their networks.

This screening will include:

  • a relaxed environment
  • staff on hand to guide and assist people with accessing their seats
  • no trailers or advertisements before the film
  • cinema lights will be left on low, as opposed to darkness
  • the sound will be turned down from usual levels
  • a chill out zone for people to leave mid-screening
  • people having the freedom to move around and sit where you like

In the future, we will aim to ensure all Storyhouse staff are trained in autism awareness.

Audiences are welcome to bring their own food and drink. With the building not yet being open to the public, refreshments may not be available on the day.

The following week, we will ask for your feedback via e-mail regarding all aspects of your experience, as well as your opinions on future events at Storyhouse.

If you have any queries ahead of your visit, please e-mail nicola@storyhouse.com, or call 01244 409 113.

Please note: The building will not yet be open to the public
