Storyhouse Women Weekend – Market Place

Storyhouse Women Weekend is a festival of events taking place on Saturday 25 April and Sunday 26 April across all the spaces in Storyhouse.

This is an information and application form for charities, organisations and businesses to register their interest in being part of the market place at Storyhouse Women Weekend.

What is Storyhouse Women?

Storyhouse Women is a year-round programme of events at Storyhouse, and an annual festival weekend, celebrating what it means to be a woman or girl in the world today. It is a chance to explore topics that affect anyone who identifies as a woman or a girl. We want to create a safe space to discuss and tackle these topics. Previous festivals have included line-ups of incredible women who have shared their stories and experiences with Chester, and events that have inspired and enabled us to create change. In 2019 over 400 people attended at least one of the 40 events that took place over the 2 days and included talks, panel discussions, workshops and performance and have featured activist Rose McGowan, presenter Louise Minchin, transgender figure Kellie Maloney and campaigner Maz Saleem.

Where is the market place held?

On each of the days (Saturday and Sunday) there are approximately 14 stalls which are each based at 1 x trestle table measuring 3×6 (as shown in photo below). The location of the marketplace is in The Kitchen in Storyhouse (this is the large open area on the ground floor) which is open to members of the public including people who have not bought a festival pass. You will see in the photo that at times the space is also used for performances by dancers and singers. There is also space for 1 stall to be based at the front doors of Storyhouse.
