Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions that should help you with any queries about WayWord.
If you require additional information, call 01244 409 113 or come into Storyhouse.

Are the age limits compulsory?
The age limits on each event are simply a guideline! You know your child best, so if you think the workshop or session would be appropriate for them, book away!

What prices are the events?
The prices for most standard WayWord events are £5 each – although some events (especially workshops) vary, so do check the individual event.
Daily arts & craft activities are FREE, and do not need to be booked – just drop in.

Who needs a ticket?
Everyone attending the event needs a ticket, with the exception of babes in arms (18 months and under), who can go free (no ticket required).
For workshops, you only need to book a ticket for any children attending (with the exception of Family Dance with Fallen Angels, where everyone needs one).

Do I need to stay with my child?
Any child aged under 12 needs to be accompanied by an adult (with the exception of Play in a Day, where you can leave your child. We will ask you to fill in a contact form on the day).

For WayWord Flicks (films taking place in The Kitchen), parents of children over 8 do not have to buy a ticket if they don’t want to watch the film, but we ask that they still stay in The Kitchen.

Although there will be Storyhouse staff at all events, including free arts and crafts, they are not responsible for looking after any children.

How can I book tickets?
Tickets can be booked using Storyhouse’s safe and secure online booking system, and you won’t  be charged any booking or transaction fees. Your confirmation e-mail acts as your ticket, which you can either print or show on your phone when you arrive at the event. We will also have details of everyone booked in, just in case.

You can also book tickets in person at Storyhouse, and tickets can be bought on the door, although it is best to check availability in advance.

To book tickets over the phone, call 01244 409 113 (press option 1).

How long are the events?
Standard events tend to last for about an hour, although workshops will vary (individual events pages detail times).

Should I arrive early?
It’s a good idea to arrive at least 15 minutes before start time to allow plenty of time for you to grab a seat. Plus, you can enjoy some of the free crafts and games on offer!

Where is WayWord taking place?
WayWord will take place throughout Storyhouse, with free arts & crafts in The Kitchen and The Den, and events and workshops mainly in the Garret Theatre and main Theatre.

When is Storyhouse open?
Storyhouse is open Monday – Saturday from 8am (Sunday from 9.30am), until well after bedtime! This includes the cafe and library, so feel free to come as early as you want to enjoy the building.

What are the access facilities?
If you have any access requirements or queries in regards to your visit, please do let Storyhouse know by e-mailing info@storyhouse.com or calling 01244 409 113, to ensure any necessary provisions or assistance are in place. If required, free essential companion tickets are available for all Storyhouse events, and can be booked in person at Storyhouse or over the phone (01244 409 113 – press option #1).
