Young Film Programmers 24/25
Young Film Programmers is a free weekly course for 16-25 year olds that runs from November 2024 – April 2025.
Young Film Programmers is for young people who are interested in gaining practical experience in film curation, event management, arts administration and marketing.
As a Young Film Programmer, you will make creative choices about what you want to see on screen and plan events to take place during the Chester International Film Festival in March 2025.
We are looking for people from a range of backgrounds with a variety of interests – no previous experience necessary.

Dates & Times
Tuesday November 12 2024 – Tuesday 15 April 2025 (term time), 5.30pm – 7.30pm.
Sessions will take place at Storyhouse, Chester across from the Town Hall.

What you will do:
- Young Film Programmers will work to programme films to screen as part of the 2025 Chester International Film Festival.
- As part of the film festival, Young Programmers will plan and deliver a pop-up cinema event in a community location in Blacon.
- Learn how to plan an event and put together a marketing campaign.
- Meet industry professionals.
- Gain exclusive work experience in the creative arts.
- Be invited to Storyhouse events and shows.
- Work with a team of like-minded people towards your events.
- Learn in an accessible, inclusive and safe space.
- Have fun, make new friends and grow in confidence.

Storyhouse Young Films Programmers is for you if you’re 16-25 and you:
- Are interested in working in the creative arts industry.
- Are passionate about film.
- Want to develop a career in curating, event planning, marketing or arts administration.
- Would like to help shape what is happening in your local community.

Opening times
We’re open from early until late every day!
Our building is open from 8am to 11pm, Monday to Saturday.
On Sundays and Bank Holidays (excluding Christmas) we’re open from 9.30am to 11pm.
Food is served in The Kitchen from 9am to 9pm daily.
