Norwegian director Joachim Trier returns to Norway after his foray into English language with Louder Than Bombs. Thelma is a tense slow-boiling thriller in which a girl from a sheltered background discovers her sexuality alongside discovering she has telekinetic powers. An ominous, unnerving and strangely powerful film.
