Storyhouse library is an inspirational place for adults and children alike, to keep, make, and share great stories and ideas.

The library threads its way throughout the building, with shelves of books in our restaurant and bar areas as well as upstairs. You can check books out from 8am-11pm every day (9.30am on Sundays), using the library kiosks.

The upstairs Reading Room provides a quieter area for reading or study, whilst the Meeting Room is available for and and all community events, groups or sessions.

The Den and Storytelling Room, full of children’s books, host free arts and crafts every weekend, from 11am-3pm, as well as a host of other activities and regular storytelling. Check out all activities here.

Check out our Community Launch of Storyhouse, including a real life book worm from Chester’s former library to the brand new Storyhouse library:

Today was amazing! #bookworm ? A huge thank you to everyone involved. We're officially open for business on Thursday 11 May, but you can pop in tomorrow and over the weekend for a little look around.
