Census - Pre Event Talk

Event details

Join a hands-on exploration of working-class storytelling. You’ll get to know people, learn playful techniques and practical skills for preserving your own stories. Through group activities and creative prompts Malandra Jacks will spark memories and imagination.

A welcoming space to collect and preserve working class voices, experiences, and histories.
Those who wish can also take part in an informal audio-recording session, offering personal anecdotes that may feature in the performance of CENSUS in Chester.

Who is leading this workshop?
Malandra Jacks, Manchester-based artists Chloe Malandra and Josh Wilkinson.
They share authentic stories through film, theatre, and installation. Their work responds to the realities of today and celebrates everyday people, creating pieces that reflect society and the experiences of working-class communities.

Their aim is to bring people together to challenge inequality and offer a mic to those who often go unheard. Driven by artistic innovation, their work serves as a catalyst for connection.
