Peg Dolls Craft & Chat
Event details
An adult craft and chat session exploring the process of making peg dolls and the range of possibilities they present from trinkets to totems. Hosted by artist Victoria Firth, come and breathe life and personality into your own peg doll and have an opportunity to discuss the themes of Victoria’s latest performance project Batty! – women’s need for wildness, our connection to the natural world, ageing and transformation.
Peg Dolls is part of the research and development of Victoria’s new theatre show BATTY! – An alternative coming of age story appearing at Storyhouse on Saturday 19 October. Batty has dreams – vivid ones of running barefoot, wild swimming, of talking trees, strange animals and the scent of the seasons turning. In fact she’s starting to wonder if she might be a witch. Of course she can’t be –but something is changing, something is coming…
