Directed by Jean-Luc GodardMathieu Kassovitz
StarringJean-Paul Belmondo, Jean Seberg

To celebrate the release of Richard Linklater’s new film Nouvelle Vague, revisit Jean-Luc Godard’s quintessential classic of French cinema.

A small-time thief (Jean-Paul Belmondo) steals a car and impulsively murders a motorcycle policeman. Wanted by the authorities, he attempts to persuade an American girl (Jean Seberg) to run away to Italy with him.

Vibrant, effortlessly cool, and oh-so-Parisian, Breathless (À bout de souffle) marked the arrival of one of France’s most influential directors. Its distinctive storytelling, imaginative camerawork, and photogenic young leads capture youth and rebellion with a freshness that continues to inspire filmmakers today.

Join Reel Talk after the film for a post-screening discussion.

This screening offers a ‘Pay What You Can’ ticket structure. Choose between payments of £4, £6.50, or £9.90.
