Refugee Week
Event details
Refugee Week is the world’s largest arts and cultural festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. The theme this year is “Community Superpower”. Chester’s City of Sanctuary Group will be in the foyer of Storyhouse from Sunday 15 – Sunday 22 June to demonstrate community support for those seeking sanctuary in our area and to challenge false information about those seeking sanctuary. Do come and visit us at our stall and take a selfie with a community superpower poster to show solidarity!
A-Z Art Trail
Chester City of Sanctuary group are collaborating with The Bishops’ Bluecoat Church of England High School, Chester to produce an ‘A – Z Art Trail’. Young people have produced 26 display posters to make up an A-Z on the theme of Sanctuary and Refugees. Pick up a trail map from 24 May – 22 June and see if you can find all 26 artworks (Bonus hint: three of them are in Storyhouse!)
