An evening of bold, brilliant, and moving performances exploring life without children — through theatre, storytelling, and comedy.

5:00pm – Otherhood
Step into Otherhood a radically hopeful queer love story about ageing without children and the power of found family. Theatre makers and founders of Old Bird Theatre – Deborah Pakkar-Hull and Emma Adams will give an insight into their development process using real life testimony from those who are childless/free, and share a snippet of the play from the rehearsal room.

5:30pm – Empty by Robert Nurden
A live reading from Empty, a powerful new play by writer and journalist Robert Nurden, Robert is the author of I Always Wanted to Be A Dad.

6:00pm – 7:30pm – TOKEN Collective Comedy Presents…
A laugh-out-loud comedy set hosted by the TOKEN Collective, bringing you a dynamic line-up of comedians who challenge stereotypes and celebrate life (line up to be annouced).

TOKEN Collective was founded by women who’ve walked very different paths, but have come together to challenge norms, make you laugh and wear excellent outfits in the process. Creating comedy space for girls, gays, theys, people of colour & with disability.

This event is for people who are Childless and Childfree and their supporters.

This event may feature strong language, mention of abortion, trauma, pregnancy, miscarriage, and suicidal ideation. Please look out for yourself and others and please remember you can come and go from any event.
