Storyhouse Sessions and Blue Lantern: Song-writing Workshop

Need some inspiration for your next song? Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced songwriter looking for a creative spark, this hands-on workshop is designed to ignite your imagination.

Led by Igloo Hearts — the ethereal folk-pop duo (as seen on Channel 4’s The Piano) — you’ll explore practical songwriting exercises, collaborative ideas and creative tools to help your music flourish.

With singer/songwriters Katie (Grade 8 classical pianist) and James (acoustic guitarist), you’ll delve into lyrics, song structure, melody, keys and chords, in a friendly, informal and confidence-boosting setting. Expect to leave feeling energised, inspired, and ready to write your next great song.

The structure of the day will be as follows:  

• 11:00–1:30pm – songwriting workshop / collaborative exercise / collaborative songwriting  

• 1:30–2:00pm – break 

• 2:00–3:00pm – sharing creations with the group and reflecting on the session
