Storyhouse Women: Craftivism Workshop
Event details
Take part in a free workshop where you can help create banners and 3D hearts made using arts materials and textiles which take on the theme of ending violence against women and girls and the ongoing global movement to tackle misogyny and raise up the women and girls around us.
The workshop will be led by facilitator Claire Henderson who uses the practice of craftivism. Claire is found online @plush_crafts
What is Craftivism?
Craftivism is a gentle form of protest. Slowly and carefully crafting items that make a statement, advocate for change and challenge injustice.
No experience needed and materials are provided. You have the opportunity to make a mini banner and/or a small wearable pin badge.
This event is part of a 3-month partnership project between Storyhouse and Tomorrow’s Women.
Tomorrow’s Women Chester opened in February 2023 and is the second centre of Tomorrow’s Women. They offer support for women aged 18+ with a range of issues including mental health, substance misuse, confidence & self-esteem, money, exercise, and social isolation.
