Event details

Join us for an essential event on safeguarding yourself from fraud and cybercrime e.g. romance scams. Romance fraud occurs when you believe you’ve found the perfect partner online, only to discover they’ve been using a fake profile to establish a relationship with you. Over weeks or months, they gain your trust, creating the illusion of a loving relationship, but their true intention is to exploit you for money or personal information.

Presented by specialist officers from the North West regional organised crime unit, this workshop offers valuable insights and practical tips to ensure your online safety. The team will be available in the marketplace throughout the first day of the festival for general information, but this event is specifically designed for those seeking a more in-depth understanding of how to stay secure online.

Held in a small meeting room that accommodates approximately 10 people, this intimate session provides an opportunity to delve into the nuances of romance fraud prevention. Don’t miss this chance to empower yourself with the knowledge needed to navigate the world of online relationships safely.
