The Transition Project

Me, Myself and iPhone

Event details

Following the success of last year’s sell-out event, The Transition Project returns for student in year 6 in June 2024.

Transitioning from Primary to Secondary school is a significant change for young people – early and preventative education is key. Learning about change, and how to deal with it, can help young people process this transition and prepare them for many other changes and challenges they may face throughout life.

Key themes:

  • Mobile phone use and some of the universal pressures linked to social media
  • Being an ally in person and online
  • Navigating new friendships whilst maintaining old friendships
  • How to prepare for the move to secondary school

New for this year’s event – more interactive workshops in Storyhouse’s new Studio space.

The event will feature a welcome from Project Leaders Tara Jones (Founder, LiMIT Tech) & Jacob Maudsley (Storyhouse Schools and Education Manager), creative learning workshops linked to the themes above, creative responses shared on the Storyhouse main stage from the day’s participants and live Q&A panel events with Year 7 pupils.

For more information, or to book your school’s place at this event, please contact our Schools and Education Manager, Jacob, at jacob.maudsley@storyhouse.com.
