Director: Michael Powell, Emeric Pressburger
Stars: David Niven, Kim Hunter, Roger Livesey

A new 4K digital restoration for British cinema’s finest war-time melodrama. David Niven stars as a handsome pilot flying back to England in a badly damaged plane. Before bail out he makes contact with a radio operator June for what he believes to be his final conversation. Miraculously he survives, finds June and the two fall in love – but all is not well as one of heaven’s messengers comes to claim him saying there has been a mistake. Moving between black and white realism to full Technicolour fantasy A Matter Of Life and Death fully displays the expert mix of emotionally driven storytelling and technical bravado which has assured Powell & Pressburger a place in cinema history.

There will be 15-20 minutes of trailers and adverts before the screening (not included in duration).
