Oscar Winner: Best Actress (Olivia Colman)

It’s the early 18th Century and England are fighting the French, Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) is on the throne but in poor health. Vying for the attention of the Queen is her devoted friend Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz) and Lady Sarah’s cousin Abigail (Emma Stone). Abigail sees winning the Queen over as a chance to restore her social status which has been left in tatters since her father’s ruinous gambling has come to light.  So begins a hilarious, game of one- up-womanship powered by three superb and wickedly funny performances.

Directed by auteur Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster, Killing Of A Sacred Deer).
