Set in the early 18th century, England is warring with France; nevertheless, duck racing and pineapple eating are thriving. Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz) tends to Queen Anne’s ill health and mercurial temper until a new servant, Abigail (Emma Stone), arrives and vies to court the Queen’s favour.

Dubbed a “punk Restoration romp”, Yorgos Lanthimos’ historical tragicomedy examines the relationship between three women entangled by love, loss, and loneliness.
