Chester Filmmakers
A FREE monthly community group for local filmmakers
Event details
Chester Filmmakers is a free, monthly community group for local filmmakers. Each event begins with a short film showcase in the cinema, followed by relaxed post-screening discussions in The Kitchen. Come along, support local talent, and join the conversation.
Our goal is to support our growing community of filmmakers by providing a platform to share their work and a friendly space to connect with other creatives.
Want to see your work on the big screen? We’re looking for filmmakers based in the North West of England and North Wales to showcase in our upcoming events. We welcome films from people of all abilities, backgrounds, and experience levels. See below for more information on how to submit your short film.
Chester Filmmakers is FREE to attend, please reserve your place in advance.
18 and over permitted only
Submit a film
Films must be 20 minutes or less to allow us enough time to showcase other filmmakers’ submissions.
Your submission doesn’t need to be a final work. We welcome works-in-progress, rough cuts, and excerpts from longer projects. If you have something to show, we’d love to see it!
To support and develop our community group, filmmakers must be available to attend their screening in person. This allows you to introduce your work and participate in post-screening conversations.
Chester Filmmakers is intended for local filmmakers. Submissions are open to creators based in Chester, Cheshire, and the surrounding areas (including Liverpool, Manchester, Warrington, and North Wales), provided you are able to attend in person. Please include your city or region in your submission notes or cover letter.
All submitting filmmakers must be 18 years of age or older.
