We’re pleased to celebrate the launch of our latest project created in collaboration with the Year 1 class at The Arches Community Primary School and the Blacon Older People’s Group. This new six-month project will culminate at Storyhouse Elders in October, bringing together younger and older generations to exchange experiences and inspiration through storytelling, music and more.
Last week, The Arches Community Primary School and the Older People’s Group gathered to officially launch Capital Beats, a new intergenerational project named through a group vote by the neighbouring school and elders in the Blacon community.
At their their first meet-up, the children and their older friends enjoyed live music from Flintshire-based duo The New Kid. Over the next six months, the Year 1 class will be learning about the capital cities of the UK through stories shared by the older group, inspiring artwork, poetry and dance.
Storyhouse is a charity, and this is one example of how we co-create projects alongside the communities we work with.
