Storyhouse Young Leaders 9-month Programme

Storyhouse Young Leaders 9-month programme is now open for referrals.

Our Young Leaders 9-month Programme is a chance for young people to discover their passion and explore the workings of the different departments at Storyhouse including marketing, producing events, customer service, backstage, fundraising and running activities. Young Leaders will receive mentoring, training and be given practical opportunities to help them develop, create and grow both professionally and personally.

What do Young Leaders do?

Projects and challenges that our Young Leaders have achieved include; creating set, props and working backstage as part of the stage management team, organising and leading family activities at Storyhouse, volunteering at a range of festivals at Storyhouse, influencing marketing campaigns, developing transferable skills, completing industry-recognised Arts Awards and meeting the Queen and Meghan Markle!

During the course of the programme young people will also work towards gaining a Trinity College London Arts Award qualification.

Who is it for?

The 9-month programme is designed for young people who would benefit from a longer-term intervention. It is a small team of young people who will work on numerous projects in Storyhouse alongside many different departments. They will learn more about creative careers and job roles, whilst discovering their passions and sharing their skills. We aim to build confidence, raise aspirations, increase teamwork skills and develop transferable job skills.

The programme is most suitable for:

· Young people who will benefit from one day per week out of school/college

· Young people looking to re-engage with education

· Young people who are home educated

· Young people with an EHCP

· Young people who have an interest in creative arts and would prefer to work in small groups

· Young people least likely to access mainstream creative activities

When is it?

This programme will run weekly during term time on Wednesday afternoons 1-4pm..
