For over a decade, Storyhouse has brought unforgettable open-air cinema experiences to unique locations across Chester, from the historic Roman Gardens to the scenic Dean’s Field at Chester Cathedral. This year, Moonlight Flicks kicks off the summer early as Rooftop Social Club brings some of the most loved and cult classic films to the heights of the city centre.

Our second season line-up brings romcoms, cult classics, musicals and all-out showstoppers to the heights of the city centre, alongside independent street food, great drinks and unforgettable movie memories. Every Thursday at 7pm!

Rooftop Social Club is located on the top floor of the Pepper Street Car Park in Chester City Centre.
Find them using postcode CH1 1DF.
Local, regional and national train services all run from Chester Station, which is approx. 17 minute walk away. Chester Bus Interchange is also a 10 minute walk away.
Rooftop Social Club is fully wheelchair accessible with a lift and a platform stair lift. Accessible toilets are available on site.
Free Essential Companion tickets for Moonlight Flicks events are available via Storyhouse.
Rooftop Social Club features multiple independent food vendors (pizza, Greek, burgers and steak) and 3 bars operated by Liquor and Co.
Yes, kids are welcome. Rooftop Social Club is a family-friendly rooftop venue.
Under 18s MUST be accompanied by an adult (18+) to attend any Moonlight Flicks screening at Rooftop Social Club (including films rated 15).
Please bring ID, as we may need to check your age against the film classification. If you are unable to prove you are old enough to attend the screening, you may be refused entry.
If you have booked a ticket to Moonlight Flicks at Rooftop Social Club, you do not need to bring your own chairs. Seating is provided with every ticket.
Moonlight Flicks at Rooftop Social Club will not be cancelled before 5pm on the day of the screening. This is because the weather can change very quickly – we’ve seen very gloomy days turn into balmy evenings! Just before 5pm, our team will assess the weather conditions and make a decision. If a screening is cancelled, we will notify you by email – please remember to check both your inbox and junk folder.
Being outdoors, your experience can be affected by the weather. We recommend coming as prepared as possible with warm layers, a raincoat and an umbrella (just in case!). If there’s light drizzle that’s expected to pass, we’ll will proceed with the screening, but torrential or stormy weather may lead to cancellation.
If your screening is cancelled, we will send the email address used to make the booking an email with a form for you to let us know if you would like to exchange your ticket for a different screening or request a refund. You do not need to contact us.
Refunds will only be offered in the event that the screening is cancelled.
Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome at Rooftop Social Club, (and they don’t need a ticket!)
