About Stephen McGann 

Stephen McGann is a leading British actor, who began his professional career at nineteen, starring in the West End musical Yakety Yak. He has since worked extensively in British theatre and on screen and can currently be seen starring as Dr Turner in Call the Midwife. In addition to acting, Stephen is also the author of several nonfiction books, including Doctor Turner’s Casebook (2016), a companion book to Call the Midwife, in which he revisits medical cases featured in the TV series to discuss their historical and social context; and his critically acclaimed second book, Flesh and Blood: A History of My Family in Seven Maladies (2017). 

About Heidi Thomas 

Heidi Thomas is a multi-award-winning screenwriter, producer and playwright, whose television adaptations of classic novels include Madame Bovary (2000), I Capture the Castle (2003), and Cranford (2007-2009). She is especially known for creating and writing the hugely popular long-running BBC series, Call the Midwife (2012 -). Heidi has received numerous awards for her work, including the British Royal Television Society’s Best Writer award and the British Broadcasting Press Guild Award for “Cranford”. She has also been nominated for several BAFTA TV Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards.
