Set in Prohibition-era New York, this high-energy and playful story plunges audiences into a city teeming with mobsters, showgirls, and dreamers. Rival gangster bosses Fat Sam and Dandy Dan are locked in a turf war, but the balance of power shifts when Dandy Dan’s gang acquires the latest weapon on the streets: the infamous “splurge” gun. With custard pies flying and chaos mounting, Fat Sam and his gang of hapless hoodlums find themselves in serious trouble. 

Enter Bugsy Malone — a penniless former boxer and all-round charm — reluctantly thrust into the gangster spotlight as Fat Sam’s last hope. All Bugsy wants is a quiet life with his new love, Blousey, but fate — and the return of the glamorous Tallulah, Bugsy’s old flame and Fat Sam’s moll — has other plans.
