Get ready to Make a Day With Clay as Chester welcomes its very first dedicated ceramics fair.

Taking place in the heart of the city at Storyhouse, Chester Ceramics Fair is a celebration of clay, creativity and community, bringing together independent ceramicists and makers for a special day of beautiful handmade work, conversation and inspiration.

Come along and discover ceramics you won’t find on the high street, from colourful and contemporary pieces to functional pottery, sculptural work, homeware and one-off creations. Meet the people behind the pots, hear the stories behind their work and chat to the makers about how their pieces are created.

Whether you already have a serious pottery habit or you’re simply curious about ceramics, there’s something lovely about seeing handmade work up close – feeling the texture, spotting the little details and finding that piece you didn’t know you were looking for.

And CCF is about more than just buying a pot.

We’re creating a wider celebration of ceramics across the weekend, encouraging visitors to explore the brilliant creative community around Chester. The CCF Clay Trail will connect the fair with pottery studios in Chester and the surrounding area, giving visitors the chance to discover where ceramics are made and see more of the people and places behind the craft. In addition, local bookshop books on the walls is hosting our preview ‘Evening with the Makers’ on Saturday 14 November.
