In these interesting times, it seems more than ever important that we should look after our wellbeing. A good book provides focus and enrichment. Some books grip the imagination, taking us on wild adventures. Some inspire in us new strength or a new perspective. Some books stay in our memories long after we have read them, particular passages standing out like beacons. Many of us return to favourite books, reading and re-reading them whenever we feel the need. Books engage our strongest emotions, from rage to calm, from sorrow to joy. Perhaps we love a good book because it makes us feel more intensely alive. In this panel event, Chester Humanists pose questions about and explore the books that matter most to members of the Chester City Community.
