Chester U3A Showcase

The u3a is an international movement that provides opportunities for those not in full-time work to come together to learn, laugh and live active lives in retirement. It’s a network of local branches whose members socialise and share their knowledge, skills, and interests in a relaxed environment. There are no qualifications or exams, just the joy of learning for its own sake.

The Chester u3a is a vibrant and welcoming organisation that can offer a helping hand to anyone seeking to keep active and make new friends when they retire.  Come along to our Showcase to find out more about what we get up to.

• Between 10am and 12pm, representatives from our Learning and Interest Groups will have displays about their activities in the Kitchen.  From Ambling to Wine Appreciation, via Craft, Painting and Pickleball, you are sure to find something to capture your interest!

• In the afternoon (1pm – 3.30pm), visitors will be treated to a programme of short talks in the Garret Theatre on the theme Chester u3a Goes Green. Free refreshments will be available in the Garret Bar from 12.15. The talks will be aimed at a general audience, so come long to find out about Chester Zoo and its Networks for Nature initiative, organic farming, access to green spaces and how “green” are your reading choices.

The event is free. The morning displays are drop-in but advance booking to attend the afternoon talks would be helpful so we know to expect you.
