What does Global Majority mean?
The term Global Majority background refers to people who are Black, Asian, Indigenous, Latin American or of mixed heritage backgrounds. People from Global Majority backgrounds make up approximately 85% of the global population.
Why join?
As a Common Ground member you will be invited to regular events at Storyhouse including free workshops, theatre and cinema trips.
You will also be invited on an unforgettable overnight residential to meet young people from other arts organisations across the country!
Location Storyhouse, and Chester, and trip to Exeter/Plymouth

Summer Residential to Devon
In summer 2026, Storyhouse will be visiting a group of young people from Beyond Face in Devon for a two-night residential bursting with creative activities and experiences. You will:
- Make new friends from across the country
- Travel, stay in group accommodation & explore new cities
- Watch a performance by Beyond Face’s incredible youth theatre
- Take part in creative workshops led by inspiring Global Majority artists
- Have your voice heard and help shape Storyhouse’s future programmes
- Discover new ways to express yourself and build your creative skills
- And much more!
Beyond Face
Storyhouse are delighted to be partnering with Beyond Face to deliver this exciting residential opportunity.
Founded by Alix Harris in 2015, Beyond Face have been working with local global majority artists across Devon for 11 years, providing a number of opportunities for writers and theatre makers to develop their craft and share their work with live audiences. Their young people‘s offers provide opportunity for young people to develop skills to help them to build their own creative work and sense of community.
