Event details

This event is part of Storyhouse Women Weekend

Join author and broadcaster Louise Minchin for a lively panel discussion featuring three women who are passionate about (some might say obsessed with) cold water swimming! This inspiring hour of conversation will delve into their personal journeys into the world of cold-water activities and explore the numerous benefits.

Why has immersing oneself in a barrel of iced water or taking a dip in the sea become such a popular pastime, particularly among women? The panel, including Cath Pendleton, also known as the Merthyr Mermaid (the first person in the world to swim an ice mile in the Antarctic circle), Bev Dodd, a volunteer for the Wirral Bluetits Chill Swimmers and Sean Tan – Mold Masters Most Improved Swimmer will share their insights.

Discover the allure of cold-water activities, learn about their popularity, and gain tips and advice on how to get involved if you’ve been contemplating but haven’t taken the plunge yet. Join us in the Main Theatre for an engaging discussion on the fascinating world of cold-water adventures.
