Storyhouse Women Weekend has been curated by a diverse group of women representing various ages, heritages and socioeconomic backgrounds in Chester and is a collective effort to address urgent issues, celebrate diverse narratives and create momentum.

We want to transform these crucial conversations and connections into collective empowerment as we work towards a more equitable world.

FAQs

Who is Storyhouse Women for?

Storyhouse Women celebrates women and girls of all ages and backgrounds.

We encourage young women and girls to attend, and those aged 13-25 can even take advantage of our Young Storyhouse Card discount – sign up for FREE here.

Storyhouse is proudly trans-inclusive, and all of the organisations who we’ll be collaborating with share this commitment to inclusivity.

Can I bring my children?

Yes – childcare responsibilities shouldn’t be a barrier for anyone wishing to attend. Children and babes in arms are more than welcome to attend any of the talks in the Storyhouse Theatre or Garret Theatre, but we would advise not bringing children to the smaller workshops where space may be limited.

Storyhouse Women is an informal festival, where you can come and go as you need to.

Can men attend Storyhouse Women?

Absolutely! Whether you would like to gain a deeper understanding of a particular topic or to support the women in your life, please do come along.

What support is there at Storyhouse Women?

We understand that some of the topics being discussed may be triggering for some. The Meeting Room in the Storyhouse Library (2nd floor) is designated as a tranquil space, offering a quiet sanctuary for reflection and contemplation away from noise.

Ash, a trainee art therapist, will be on hand to offer conversation if you would like it and arts expertise to journal, create or simply doodle whilst you spend some down time in the space. Find out more about Radiate Arts here.

This versatile space will also serve as a dedicated after-care area following various events throughout the weekend.
