Storytime with Jacqui Brett
Penguins and Pigeons: A Bird's Tale
Event details
Jacqui Brett is a specialist Occupational Therapist and Sensory Integration Practitioner specialising in neurodevelopmental conditions, sensory integration and mental health.
She is neurodivergent, as are her two children, which makes her particularly passionate about raising awareness, supporting self-understanding and creating resources in this field.
Penguins and Pigeons: A Bird’s Tale is a story and activity book that helps children understand neurodivergent experiences. This story and activity book is a thoughtful, practical, and visual resource that can be used in home, school, or care settings to empower younger minds. It supports the exploration of the reader’s strengths and challenges, increasing self-understanding and helping them understand the neurodivergent experience of those around them. The story and activities have been carefully curated through both lived experience and clinical evidence-based practice to build acceptance and self-esteem.
All are welcome but this storytime would be particularly useful for neurodivergent parents, siblings and children; it might also be useful if you work in schools, care organisations or in children’s mental health.
