Writing Women

Event details

Writing Women provides a safe and non-judgemental space for women to explore writing for personal development, or just for the joy of creating words.

During a typical workshop, we will do several short, timed writing activities from different stimuli (e.g., poems, images, themed word collections, objects, music) and usually around a general theme (e.g. resilience, self-compassion, or themes aligned with the cycle of the seasons). There is never any pressure to share your writing, but we may share thoughts on the experience of freewriting. No experience or skills needed, just a willingness to go wherever your pen or pencil might take you – it may surprise you!

Anne-Marie is an experienced educator and poetry/bibliotherapy practitioner, and the workshops adapt strategies from different writing approaches to enable women of all ages, languages, and backgrounds to delve into their own words.
