Young Leaders

Young Leaders programmes allow young people aged 14-25 to connect with others, discover their passion and gain work skills. It is completely free.

At Storyhouse we offer inclusive creative programmes and focus on removing barriers that may prevent young people from taking part. If you need any support or advice, our team are here to help.

In 2025, we have two Young Leaders programmes to choose from, as well as a brand-new informal social group for people aged 14-25.

Our programmes

Creative Social Club

From 9 September 2025
Every Tuesday, 5-7pm (excluding school holidays)

A new group for young people aged 14-25, giving you the chance to meet new people while interacting with Storyhouse’s shows and events.

Whether you’re a budding artist, an aspiring writer, or just someone who loves to create, you’ll find a home here. Come along, join us and let your creativity shine!

Young Leaders Plus

17 September – 10 December 2025
Every Wednesday, 1-4pm (excluding school holidays)

A 12-week Young Leaders + programme designed for young people who want to make a difference but may need extra support to take part.

Young Leaders + is for young people…

  • Aged 14-25 with barriers to taking part.
  • Motivated to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
  • Interested in making a positive impact.

Our Young Leaders Plus programme is your chance to develop leadership skills, build confidence, and create positive change!

Creative Careers

2 October – 11 December 2025
Every Thursday, 4-7pm (excluding school holidays)

Creative Careers is a chance for you to kickstart your career! Our employability skills course is designed to help you gain the skills and confidence you need to succeed in the creative sector.

Who is it for?

  • Young people aged 16-25.
  • Young people currently not in education employment or training (or at risk of being NEET)
  • Young people facing a particular barrier to finding work
  • Interested in working in the creative industries
