Schools and Storyhouse
Become a Storyhouse Partner School
Storyhouse partners with Primary and Secondary schools to give students the chance to learn, create and be inspired through practical sessions with a student-centred approach.
Through our approach of blending project-based learning with drama, students explore multiple perspectives within the framework of the curriculum, challenging them to find solutions to complex problems.
Regular sessions in schools allow our Storyhouse Creative Learning Practitioners to work with teachers to explore the curriculum through creativity, and gives students the opportunity to visit Storyhouse and take part in ongoing creative experiences.
We believe that every young person should have the opportunity to participate in, and benefit from, arts and culture experiences, recognising the need to develop students’ transferable skills beyond academic knowledge.
Through creative learning experiences facilitated by Storyhouse Creative Learning Practitioners, we aim to equip students with essential skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving – crucial for their personal professional development in the future.
Our work is inspired by the late educationalist Dorothy Heathcote, who saw the relationships between ‘expert’ adults and children as a collaborative endeavour.
The Storyhouse Schools Partnership is completely not-for-profit, with all funds reinvested into the programme. We aim to actively address barriers to participation in arts and culture to ensure inclusivity for all young people, combatting challenges such as financial constraints and lack of representation.

Schools Tour: Macbeth
Storyhouse are delighted to confirm our workshop offer for the Storyhouse Originals production of Macbeth in March 2026.
Storyhouse’s Macbeth, and its accompanying Schools’ Days and workshops, will be perfect for English Literature students studying the play, or other Shakespearean plays, at KS3 or KS4 level. It also offers a perfect opportunity for Drama students to experience a full-scale, live production as an audience member at an affordable rate.
Teacher's Network Event
The Storyhouse Teachers’ Network gives local educators a space to come together with each other and the Creative Communities department, take part in creative conversations and build partnerships.
Taking place on Tuesday 11 December 2025 at 6pm, the event will focus on the importance of collaboration and shine a light on upcoming projects that we are keen to invite schools to be a part of.
Let’s talk!
We love discussing creativity and all things education with teachers. We’re always delighted when we get chance to spend time talking with you, your team, school governors and PTA about what we can achieve together.
We’re committed to ensuring all students have access to the arts.
If your school trip is funded through parental contributions, we may be able to offer additional support for students eligible for Pupil Premium to help remove financial barriers. Please get in touch with us to discuss how we can help.
