Inspiring Artists

Finlay, Joel and Olivia

Desire for Change: More young people to have the opportunity to learn how to play an instrument.

Idea: Finlay felt he benefited from learning to play the guitar and discovered that there were no guitar tutors in Lache. With Agents Olivia and Joel, Finlay will run guitar workshops in Lache for 8–11-year-olds. They will then create a legacy for his project by developing a guitar “library” to ensure that more young people have access to instruments and resources.

Chester and Eden

Desire for Change: Remove the stigma around poor mental health for children in school.

Idea: Chester’s will run a series of creative workshops in primary schools to support children’s mental health. During these workshops they will co-create a performance that raises awareness and removes stigma. The piece will be performed in Lache and at Storyhouse.

A Spark of Lache

Alice (Meraki Productions)

Desire for change: Showcase the strengths of the community through film.

Idea: Alice will set up a community-led production company to co-create a documentary with residents of Lache, showcasing their strengths and stories. She will also create a celebration event for the film’s first screening in Lache.

I'm Fluffin' Hungry

Nicola and Emma

Desire for Change: To reduce the number of stray animals in Lache and help pet owners.

The idea: Nicola has a love for all animals and was concerned about the number of stray animals in Lache and the problems they can cause. Working in partnership with The Larder, this initiative provides support for families struggling to care for their pets during the cost-of-living crisis, through creation of a pet food bank, equipment swap shop, and pet play items library.
