Inspired by an open mic where they first met (called the Blue Lantern), Welsh duo Igloo Hearts bring this vision back to life, with a unique twist, at The Garret Theatre.

Led by James and Katie MacGregor, (recently featured on the Channel 4 show ‘The Piano’) Igloo Hearts promises an immersive experience akin to a cozy living room atmosphere.

Prepare for captivating performances that evoke goosebumps and stir the emotions.

The evening begins with Igloo Hearts as hosts, followed by an ‘up and coming’ support artist, before the main headline act takes to the stage.

Raised on the East Yorkshire flatlands near Hull, Katie Spencer’s music is shaped by open skies and riverscapes. Her intricate guitar style and vivid songwriting reflect that spaciousness, now turning inward with the release of her third album, What Love Is (October 2025). Produced by Matt Ingram (Laura Marling, The Staves), the record features ten intimate tracks with contributions from Giacomo Smith (clarinet), Max Clilverd (pedal steel), and Tom Mason (double bass). 

Influenced by Joni Mitchell, Michael Chapman, and the folk-baroque tradition, Katie’s sound is both timeless and distinctively her own—marked by a rich vibrato and crystal-clear fingerpicking. Her new album evokes late-period Joni, blending jazz-tinged soundscapes with honest, pastoral lyricism and sophisticated melody.
