Storyhouse Childless: Comedy and Open Mic

We round off our first day with our much loved ‘Open Mic Night’!   Returning to host and facilitate this event is Claire Beerjeraz, performer, spoken word artist, and contributor to Storyhouse Childless.

This is an opportunity for you to express your creative side whether through writing, poetry, singing, artwork, music, movement and comedy — but all forms are welcome! Claire will support you, give you feedback, and help you prepare, whether you are attending the  ‘Parallel Lives’ sessions or not, so everyone is welcome!

And in a special reprise of last year’s Token Comedy Collective, ‘Invisible Me’ will be joining Claire (they’ve promised no interactive singing this time, but you never know!)

We’re looking for uplifting, feel good performances and the content does not necessarily need to be about ‘not having kids’ or about the festival –  the fact that you are part of the community is all that matters.

If you have a more reflective piece, then there is a second opportunity to perform on the Sunday afternoon as part of the wrap up event.

To take part, work made during the Parallel Lives creative sessions can be submitted during the Festival to Claire.
