Fri 7 – Thu 20 November 2025
The Choral
Event details
Directed by Nicholas Hytner
Starring Ralph Fiennes, Roger Allam, Mark Addy, Alun Armstrong, Simon Russell Beale
As World War One gets underway a Yorkshire Village finds it’s choral society depleted as the young men join the army. With the annual performance looming, the society is forced to change its entry rules to enlist some unlikely teens and the musically gifted but socially scandalous Dr. Guthrie.
Written by Alan Bennett and starring Ralph Fiennes, The Choral is a gentle comedy drama that celebrates community and the power of song.
Please note: The 11am screening on Wednesday 12 November is a Parent and Baby screening and exclusively for parents and guardians with children under 12 months of age.
Access Information: The lift to the cinema from Storyhouse’s entrance lobby is currently out of order. We’re working to get this fixed as soon as possible. There is not currently a step-free route to the cinema, the Book Pod, the Library Quiet Zone or the Library Meeting Room. In the mean time, if you’d prefer a route with fewer steps to the Cinema, Book Pod, Quiet Zone or Meeting Room, please take the Garret lift (from The Kitchen, next to the Ticket desk) to Floor 1 and walk along the mezzanine to the cinema – this route has seven steps.
